PETA vs. KFC

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of animals) is vigorously fighting new legislative measures in Kentucky which would make fried chicken "official" picnic food.

State Representative, Charles Siler, made the motion to commemorate the financial success Kentucky Fried Chicken has brought to the state over the years. A subsidiary of Yum Brands, headquartered in Kentucky, KFC has over 11,000 restaurants in 80 countries.

While I am all for the ethical treatment of animals, this is plain-old fucking stupidity - something for which PETA is increasingly well-known. PETA, many people eat meat - myself amongst them - and you need to get the hell over it. It's certainly laudable to come-down on the jerks who nail bears' feet to bicycle pedals; it's a completely different thing to spend all your resources on stupid shit like this.

It's pretty ridiculous legislation, while we're at it - "official" picnic food? What does that even mean?

PETA should have better things to do with their clout and time than this. The fact that they do not proves the group's uselessness.
