A kangaroo attacked 65 year-old Rosemary Neal on her farm in New South Wales, Australia. Her screaming attracted the attention of her pet dog, who chased the kangaroo away.
A witness said the kangaroo simply appeared and attacked her, adding the area had been overrun with the marsupials in recent years. Kangaroos are widespread in their native Australia, but are not known to be aggressive toward humans, in general.
Ms. Neal was hospitalized with a concussion, as well as scratches and cuts to her head, face, arms, hands, and back.
