French Town Overrun by Apocalyptic Cult

Pilgrims who believe the Apocalyptic Mayan prophecy that the world will end in December, 2012 have flocked to the mountains above Bugarach, France.  They believe it will be the only "safe" place to be spared by the oncoming Endtimes, as they believe that aliens reside within the mountain.  There are other mountains similarly regarded by the cult and its followers.

The villagers of Bugarach are not happy.  In fact, the mayor has threatened to call in Army troops to deal with the situation, if necessary.

Nose Bone Update

I know I posted about this right before this entry, and I even updated it, but I just wanted to write this to let you know I am doing better, though still recovering. I had my sinuses "scraped," which is an outpatient procedure in which they (in my case) removed a bone from my nose and inserted a balloon to widen one of my nasal passages. They then packed my sinus cavity with something or other.

My doctor told me people would tell me how painful it is and so forth, and to be sure, there is some pain, but it's nowhere near the level of pain I deal with daily from my neck. Also, I honestly felt better the moment I woke-up! Even though I am still recovering, I can honestly say I feel a lot better. I'm not sure if the bone they removed was itself infected or what the deal is, but I am certain that whatever was done, it improved my health!

So I'm writing this to let you know that, should your doctor suggest you have this surgery, GO FOR IT! All told, the worst part is the bleeding and the nausea from the pain medicine. This temporary discomfort is nothing compared to how much better you will feel!

BRB

Hey all, I have a Thing to which I must attend. I probably won't be back until at least Monday, but I really can't say for sure just yet. It just depends on how everything goes and how I feel once I get done. Enjoy the archives until then!

Australian Beach Foam

These pictures are not of snow, but sea foam that has washed-up on the Australian shores. Experts say it is the result of impurities such as chemicals, plants, and more. This phenomenon occurred off the coast of Yamba.

As you can see, winds blow the foam onto sidewalks and streets, hindering residents.

Dinsdale's Son Claims to Have Witnessed Nessie Twice

Timothy Dinsdale was one of the world's foremost authorities on the Loch Ness Monster.  He searched for Nessie most of his life, participated in over 50 expeditions, and wrote a number of books on the subject.  One of the more famous pieces of evidence Dinsdale collected was a short film of something in the loch.  Though RAF examiners admitted the object in the film was unknown, they claimed it was inanimate.  Skeptics have often taken that to mean "non-living."

However, Dinsdale's son claims the footage is real and that he himself has witnessed the Loch Ness Monster twice in his life.  Timothy Dinsdale, Jr. was a career detective who helped bring a serial killer to justice, and claims the evidence he is familiar with convinces him that a large, unknown creature lives in Loch Ness.

Ghost Adventures - Kell's Irish Pub

Aaron
Aaron at Kell's Irish Pub
This week, the Ghost Adventures crew investigates Kell's Irish Pub in Seattle.

In the early 1900s' Seattle, death was a good business; mining accidents, disease, and murder made it very profitable.  E.R. Butterworth opened Seattle's first morgue in the midst of an outbreak of a deadly disease.  At the time, there were so many deaths, the City of Seattle paid citizens for each body that was brought to the morgue.  Since the payment was about half a year's salary for many, it quickly became an incentive for murder.

Today, Kell's Irish Pub occupies what used to be the morgue.  The restless souls that passed through the walls continue to have an effect on the building today.  Figures walk the halls, glasses move on their own, and voices echo throughout the building.

Every year, there seems to be a build-up of paranormal activity as we move closer to the anniversary of Seattle's Spanish influenza outbreak of 1918.  Due to the number of deaths, it was mandatory for everyone to wear surgical masks in public. Thousands of bodies passed through the mortuary as a result of disease, accidents, and foul play, but E.R. Butterworth didn't care if the bodies were there as a result of natural causes or murder.

Zak, Nick, and Aaron believe the souls of those who died for unjust reasons remain trapped in Kell's Irish Pub.

Possible UFO Photo Over Australia

Between 1995 and 1996, the Southern Tablelands became a hotspot for UFO sightings. A hiker's recent picture from the area revealed an unknown object similar in appearance to that of many supposed UFOs. Adam Cainero says the sun was in his eyes when he snapped the picture and he saw nothing at the time.

Big Cat Slaughters Welsh Livestock

A jet-black cat described as a panther has become the center of nearly 10 sightings in and around Pembrokeshire, where it has attacked livestock. Authorities have collected photographs, tracks and prints, and eyewitness accounts and are convinced a Big Cat is loose in the area and is responsible for the attacks. Some stories claim the cat was seen with a cub, leading others to conclude there may be as many as three Big Cats in the Princes Gate area.

Experts agree there are hallmarks of the attacks that are consistent with large cats, but remain skeptical. Some say the paw print in question belongs to a dog, but police and wildlife experts are investigating. Farmers in the area have reason to worry, though. An ewe was literally torn apart, a calf was killed, and one eyewitness claims the cat was seen with a lamb in its mouth.

Ghost Adventures - Villisca Axe Murder House

In Villisca, Iowa there is small house with a very dark past. Eight people, including six children, were hacked to death with an ax in one of this town's modest homes. It has been over 100 years since this horrific event, but the murder was never solved, meaning the victims families were never brought justice for the terrible crime.

The Ghost Adventures crew know there are plenty of secrets left to be discovered inside the home, and it is their intention to find new evidence from the case. There are numerous stories from local paranormal investigators who claim that attacks are still being carried out by a dark entity inside the house. One investigator recalls feeling like he had been "hit by a baseball bat" in the head.

One of the most saddening stories came from two sisters who grew up in the Villisca Ax Murder House. When they moved into the home they did not know about it's dark past, but they quickly learned that strange things happen to those who enter. Today, the sisters could not stand to be inside the house long enough to complete an interview for the show without breaking down emotionally. It is going to be an interesting investigation.

New Loch Ness Monster Sighting, Photo

27-year-old Richard Preston is the latest eyewitness to capture a picture of something unexplained in the Loch Ness. Preston, a worker in the Aldourie Castle gardens, says he saw something from the corner of his eye and took several shots of what he saw. Suddenly, the thing disappeared, but Preston has the snapshots to prove his story.

Many had theorized that Nessie could have died, thanks to a lengthy period of inactivity, but the new pictures give some cryptozoologists hope.

Ghost Adventures - Old Fort Eerie

On Friday, the Ghost Adventures crew is under siege at Fort Eerie.

August 5th, 1814 was one of the bloodiest days in Canadian history. Over 4000 people died when British troops attacked American forces inside the Old Fort Eerie. The fear and rage from the battle still haunt the grounds of this historic battlefield.

The paranormal evidence from Fort Eerie is some of the best the guys have ever collected. While using the groundskeeper as a trigger object, a mysterious figure appears in the shadow cast by the night vision infrared. Though the groundskeeper had no way of seeing the figure in the pitch dark, he felt the presence at the exact moment it appeared.

Although the fort is quiet and peaceful today, it was once a pit of death and destruction. Today, it stands as a testament to the men who fought and died there, and their experiences have left a permanent mark.
