Sorry guys, but it's been storming in the area yet again. This has been a record year for thunderstorms and tornadoes, and my electricity goes out whenever I someone in the neighborhood sneezes too hard. In fact, it was off for about 13 hours just last night and only came back on this afternoon.
I am also on antibiotics and pain meds because I was diagnosed with pneumonia about two months ago, which is one of the reasons I haven't been more active lately. One or both of these things is making me sick as a dog. Anyway, assuming I survive intact, I'll be posting as soon as the lights stay on for more than a few hours at a time!

Sans Fava Beans
Russian officials say they arrested a man eating "an acquaintance's" liver with a side of potatoes after following a trail of dismemberment across Moscow.
Apparently, the limbs and head of the victim were trailed across the Russian city. Authorities followed the trail to the suspect's home, where he admitted his crime. The suspect was eating his meal at the time of his arrest. Authorities say the rest of the victim's liver was in the refrigerator.
The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Wrexham Horse Refused Admittance to... Train?
Closed-circuit cameras captured pictures of a man trying to board a train with a pony at Wrexham Station. When a conductor refused to allow the pony to board, the man bought two tickets -- one for himself, another for the pony -- and attempted to board once again. Once again, the pony was refused admittance.
Train officials said, "Horses and ponies, which may pose a risk to the general public, are not permitted to travel."

Things What Done Fell from the Sky: Shower of Serpents
The southern part of Memphis, TN was covered by a shower of living snakes measuring from 12-18" in length one day in early 1877. While the official explanation was that the snakes had been lifted into the air and later dropped by hurricane winds, experts admitted they had no idea where such an abundance of serpents would be found in one place.

Blogger Outage
You shouldn't have experienced any problems accessing the blog over the weekend, but Blogger did some "routine maintenance" or upgrading of some kind last week which apparently caused a full-scale crash lasting about two full days! I was unable to post, or even access the back-end, until Saturday. I had company over the weekend, so I didn't work then.
Anyway, everything appears to be running smoothly (well, it's Blogger... but) now and I'll get back to posting.

Heifer from on High, 1975
In August of 1975, Sheriff W. L. McDonald reported that he had examined a mutilated heifer that appeared to have been dropped into a Colorado pond from a height of several feet. The sheriff a few towns over investigated two mutilated cows, both of which had to have been secreted into the area in which they were found, as the gate surrounding it was padlocked. Sheriff Norman Howey concluded that the cows "...had been dropped from aircraft."
In both cases, there were no tracks to be found.

Bepantied Man Attacks Goat
A West Virginia man was found clad in a bra and panties standing over the carcass of a neighbor's goat. The man told police he was high on bath salts and "wasn't in his right mind." The 19-year-old was apparently discovered in a bedroom with the dead pygmy goat, which had been stabbed at least once.
