Cruise Company Insured Against Nessie

On the 80th anniversary of Nessie's first modern sighting, Jacobite Cruises took out an insurance policy with Towergate Moray Firth to protect its fleet against damages involving the Loch Ness Monster. A spokesperson for the insurance company admitted it " probably the most unusual insurance request we have ever had," but humored the cruise line anyway. A spokesperson for Jacobite Cruises said he didn't think an encounter with the Loch Ness Monster was very likely but that the company would look "silly" if it did and they weren't covered.

Some insurance companies offer policies for all sorts of things, such as this one.
