Indiana Woman Kills Leopard in Backyard

An unidentified Indiana woman shot and killed a leopard in her backyard last week. The woman was worried about recent attacks on small animals and pets in her neighborhood, so she and her boyfriend stayed up all night and shot what they were told was "probably a bobcat." Authorities later said the cat had been identified as a leopard.

They believe the animal may have been someone's pet and that it was about nine months old.

Pet Beds

I have tried and tried to make a bed for my little wiener dog but he tears them all up! He is completely neurotic and has been known to gnaw through seatbelts if left alone in a car, so a pet bed for him is not to be. However, your cat or dog would probably love one and you can find a great bed for pets here. There is no need to get too fancy - your pet does not mind.

Ancient Egyptian Statue Moves of Its Own Accord

An ancient Egyptian statue on display for 80 years at Manchester Museum has suddenly started moving in a perfect circle - of its own accord! Campbell Price, Egyptian artifacts curator, was among the first to notice the strange movement of the statuette. He thought someone had moved it without telling him but, days later, noticed the statuette in a different position. Museum officials installed a camera which caught the movements on film.

Some suggest that the design of the statuette and the fact that it is placed on a glass surface account for the strange movement but others aren't as convinced. The statuette has been on display in the same place for 80 years and has never moved before. Ancient Egyptians believed such statues housed the spirits of the dead and the hieroglyphs on the back of the object include prayers for the man identified as the inspiration for the piece.

Busy IRL and in Azeroth

I know posts have been sparse lately and I am solely to blame, however I am back in physical therapy at the moment and am co-GM of a guild in World of Warcraft. Even if you discount the latter as anything less than one of the most important undertakings of my adult life, PT is scheduled twice a week and I have been going for the last three or four weeks. I have about the same number of weeks ahead of me before I am done.

I am having to do seemingly mundane exercises that would not faze the average person but can be excruciating for me. There is a lot of heat, some electricity, and a little massage involved, but it is mostly heat and exercises. While the whole thing has loosened me up a lot, there are days when I am feeling just fine until after my PT visit.

I am still keeping an eye on interesting stories I come across and will eventually get back to posting more regularly but aside from the more frequent medical appointments I am facing, I am now co-GM of a new guild in World of Warcraft. Ours has a little roleplaying flair, or so I have been told, thanks to some clever details I and other members have insisted upon including. Part of my job includes maintaining the guild vault, which is no mean feat. In fact, today I have to completely restructure and reorganize this behemoth and I expect the process to take several hours.

As always, The OddBlog is still kicking, still going strong, it has just taken a backseat to other things right this moment. But I am not about to forget it, nor you great readers, and will be back periodically to bring you news of the weird, inexplicable, and downright bizarre. And, once my medical situation has cleared-up some, I should be back to posting regularly. Thanks for reading!
