The body of a 41-year old Catholic priest who was attempting to set a new world record has been identified in the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Brazil.
Father Adelir Antonio de Carli lifted off in April, strapped to 1000 brightly-colored balloons. He was trying to set a new world record while also raising money for charity. The world record for flying by balloons was 19 hours. Father de Carli had successfully completed a similar trip of over 70 miles.
He ran into trouble trying to land when errant winds blew him out to sea. His body was found by chance when a tugboat came across it.
