Paradox Takes on Chariots of the Gods

Erich von Daniken's 1968 best-seller, Chariots of the Gods, has been optioned to be made into a sci-fi film by Paradox Entertainment. The film company is set to make a new Conan movie, and one of the producers involved shepherded all three Lord of the Rings movies.

While von Daniken's book was non-fiction, the Chariots of the Gods movie will be science-fiction, based on the premise: that aliens have visited earth many times before, throughout history. In the (great, BTW) book, von Daniken offers plenty of pseudo-scientific evidence to back-up his claims that these visits were the catalysts for many of Man's greatest achievements. While the evidence presented is pretty strong, the truth is that there is no smoking gun and all of it is open to interpretation.

Yes, von Daniken's interpretation is truly no more convoluted than those proffered by scientists who reject his hypotheses - in many cases.
