Alternative Medicine Leads to Death

As regular readers are well aware, I suffer from Degenerative Disc Disease.  This means the cartilage between my vertebrae is degenerating, leaving the bones to lay on top of one another.  It is as painful as it sounds and the worst part of it is that mine is located in my neck, so it's a constant struggle.

I have posted before about the issues I've faced, including constant battles with doctors and healthcare providers who continue to treat anyone who needs pain treatment as pill-popping "scrip-seekers."  Lately, I have been considering seeing a chiropractor to try to get some relief from the constant pain.

This news item worries me, but note the comments discussing what I've been saying for years now: These doctors are more concerned with protecting their own interests than those of their patients'.

I understand that doctors have to watch for shady cats who are just seeking prescription medication, but this should be handled on a case-by-case basis instead of approaching everyone with a jaundiced eye.  Further, by the time those of us who go to pain clinics have gotten there, we have already gone through a string of doctors and specialists and a battery of tests; there is ample proof of our condition(s) and we shouldn't have to overcome further incertitude and constant testing.
