A Knoxville man whose identity has yet to be released opened fire in an Unitarian Universalist Church, killing one and injuring at least eight others.
While details are still emerging, the man -- who was not known to the congregation -- came into the church's children's production of Annie and pulled a 12-gauge shotgun from a guitar case. He opened fire on the congregation, which was videotaping the play, killing one. While the children are "traumatized," all of the victims are adults.
This was the fourth time in the last 15 months that an American church was the scene of a fatal shooting, according to CNN.

Jim Adkission, 58, of Powell, TN, entered the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church at about 10:15am CST and opened fire on the congregation.
ReplyDelete60-year old Greg McKendry, an usher at the church, was the first man the gunman encountered. He was fatally shot in the chest. It is unclear, but it appears this was the only shot fired and only two other people were injured (previous reports noted as many as nine).
Details are forthcoming.
