A Scottish couple has donated their bodies to Edinburgh University's Medical College for dissection before they are put on display in Edinburgh Dungeon. Though part of the reason the couple made their decision is that they do not want their family to suffer their funerals, they also want to highlight the lack of bodies left to medical science. Both work as nurses at a nearby hospital.
The Edinburgh Dungeon recently launched a campaign to find people who wish to donate their skeletons to an exhibit on Burke and Hare, the infamous 19th-Century serial killers who procured victims' bodies for one Dr. Robert Knox. While the Dungeon already has several donations, they are still looking for five-six more to complete their... collection.
