Bigfoot's Body

By now, you most likely know the Bigfoot body was a hoax. Perpetrated by a former cop (which should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone), the guys who claimed they had recovered the body of a Bigfoot creature and preserved it in ice have since disappeared with the money they were paid.

Of course, this brings us full-circle to the whole "show me the body" argument so many skeptics put forth so often. "Surely a body would have been discovered by now." Not necessarily - and worse, the skeptics who put forth such an argument know this better than we armchair enthusiasts.

If Bigfoot exists, there is no reason the creatures could not observe some type of funereal rites or rituals. Perhaps they bury their dead, or even cannibalize them, but this does not have to be so. Don't forget that elephants travel to particular sites to die and even housecats and dogs are known to go under the house to die.

Still, remains decompose quite rapidly and Bigfoot stays in remote places. Add to this scavengers, and it is more than likely that the species senses its time of death, chooses a remote place to die, and its remains are gone in short order thereafter. One would have to be very lucky to happen upon these remains, even if ardently seeking them.

I feel for our colleagues who were hoodwinked by this typical representative of Southern law enforcement. But don't let this hoax kill the efforts. Hopefully these assholes will be caught eventually and while the money will most likely be long gone, at least the point will be made.

Say what they will, even the mainstream press was hopeful about this one.
