Ancient Peruvian Pyramid Spotted

Approximately a mile from Cahuachi, believed to be the largest mud city known, researchers discovered the outline of what may be another pyramid adobe just below the surface of the ground.

Using new remote sensing technology, the image was found among those taken by satellites in the area. The pyramid spotted appears to be nearly 100,000' square feet and its architecture is said to resemble that of the Grand Pyramid, another structure uncovered at the site. Cahuachi was the capitol of the Nazca empire. The Nazca lines are a world-renowned set of animal images set upon the desert floor, visible only from the air. No one knows how nor why they were made.

Researchers believe this pyramid, like the others, may contain the remains of human sacrifices.
